I have talked myself out of buying an air fryer multiple times because a few years ago my mother got me a small convection toaster oven and swore to me it did the same thing as an air fryer and I didn’t want another large kitchen gadget cluttering my countertops. I’ve used it every night I’ve been home and have been absolutely amazed at how quickly and beautifully it cooks. The first night I tested it out making simple roasted fingerling potatoes. In less than 15 minutes I had perfectly roasted crispy on the outside soft on the inside potatoes. The next night I made roasted cauliflower for veggie tacos and again perfectly cooked with just the right amount of crispness in just 12 minutes. Last night I made chicken thighs for my meal prep and in 15 minutes they were perfectly cooked on the outside and the most tender juicy and evenly cooked meat. I thought surely the cleanup was going to be hard as I used a marinade with honey in it but with hot water and a little bit of Dawn dish soap the tray and cooking rack looked brand new. It’s super easy to use and even tells you when to flip your food. My only regret is that I didn’t buy a bigger one and didn’t buy one sooner.

The box arrived, and I thought “Ah, I don’t want something this large sitting on my counter top,” so I started refund procedures instead of opening it. An hour later a hungry son walks in the door, and I decided that the shrimp and chips in the freezer would make a good snack- but would take an hour in the oven- so I opened the air-fryer. WoW! Was I surprised! This air-fryer is amazing! It made the breaded shrimp and the chips crispy on the outside and tender inside in 7 minutes from the time it warmed up. The taste was wonderful- better than the oven, and even better than the local take-out at the fish market. I am sold- have used it 4 times in 24 hours. Waffles, shrimp, chips, and hashbrowns. All good. All quick. No mess clean up. I used parchment paper under the food and didn’t even have to wash the airfryer! A+++++ for this kitchen appliance!

I’m new to air frying, but I’m pretty sure I picked a winner here. I live alone, so I didn’t want a big unit. This unit is a bit wider than a traditional toaster, and narrower than a classic Keurig. It preheats fast and beeps when it’s time to add the food. It also beeps partway through the cycle to let you know when to turn the food (more important for things like fries than a burger or chicken breast). Food comes out crispy and delicious with minimal effort. Cleanup (hand washing with a nylon brush) is quick and easy. As others say, it’s important to initially run several cycles (without food) to help burn off oils and a plastic smell. I’m very pleased with this purchase.

I ordered this because I had been using a really large combo Instant Pot (family size) that my son let me borrow while he was out of country and loved how quick everything cooked, with less grease, the variety of uses was great. This one is just about perfect for a single person. I do like how it works so far, but there are a few little annoyances. If you really want to cook 1 chicken breast or 1 salmon or 1 steak (not a big one) then it’s perfect, almost. But personally, sometimes I’d rather cook TWO chicken breasts so I could have leftovers for reheating later. The basket is too small for two (well, too small for the chicken breasts I get at the meat counter). Also, I don’t think squeezing 2 chicken breasts in here would be a good idea because you’re supposed to leave room for the air to circulate. In the photo is a different chicken breast that I usually buy, I thought I’d try this brand since they run a bit smaller, but these are also too big. I would only cook one of these at a time as well.It took a couple times to figure out how long to cook sweet potato fries! But that’s what taking notes is for.Another thing I’m not a fan of is the little half circle metal thingy in the middle of the tray that’s used to pick the tray up and set it back in. I think having just a hole there would be better. Cooking any piece of meat or salmon that is flat, doesn’t sit flat. Not that it probably affects cooking, but it’s just weird. I had a piece of salmon once that finished cooking with a bump in the middle. The tray, it has rubber bumpers on each side. You do have to press down on the tray to put it in and take it out. Seems like it’s thick sturdy rubber, so it should hold up a while. And finally, there aren’t any recipes specifically for this size. On their website the question was asked, and answered that we should refer to the regular air fryer recipes. But having a smaller basket, wouldn’t that mean the cooking times would be different? I’ve had to play around and take notes to figure out cooking times. Not even in their manual did they offer suggested cooking times for anything, which would have been nice if they did.It does clean up really easily. It’s not too large, and it doesn’t take up tons of space. For the price and what it does, as long as it doesn’t fail on me any time soon, I’m using it regularly and it’s doable. I’m kind of on the fence about maybe buying a bigger one in the future, as there are so many more options for cooking with their multi-use pressure cooker/air fryer.**UPDATE: Has anyone ever left soapy water in the basket to let it soak? Have you had the water leak from the bottom of the basket? I can only figure the water was past the screw in the basket, and the screw was loose. So I kind of tightened it, it didn’t really need it, but it still leaks. Am contacting the manufacturer. Just heads up, don’t leave the basket full of water on your counter or you may have a mess to clean up. lol

Great Space Saver Product purchased for college dorm room! Importantly all controls are front accessible , nice cord length, and smaller size did Not sacrifice interior cooking bucket space. This is a superior & very well design product. … I have a larger air fryer for my house that is great, but it’s huge egg shaped and takes up too much space on the countertop… When evaluating ACTUAL USE by household members & teens… THIS SMART POT INSTANT VORTEX IS THE FAR SUPERIOR PRODUCT FOR REAL LIFE USE. I am going to buy another for our house and donate the large space hoarder egg to good will.

The only drawback is it is lined with teflon which I was not aware of when ordering it. Problem solved however ! I ordered silicone liners !This air fryer cooks foods really fast and at even lower temps. than instructed on boxes of foods.I’m like a kid in a candy store, i.e., looking for air fryer foods that aren’t too high in calories ! ( Okay, that was kind of an oxymoron statement but you get the point). I’m having so much fun air frying this and that and am amazed at how the foods taste… just like getting coconut shrimp in a restaurant ! There are tons of recipes online as well, even for this specific air fryer. So far, so good.

Have had this air fryer for almost a month now and absolutely love it. Since buying it I haven’t used the oven even once. Whenever I get ready to bake something I google how to do it in the air fryer and voila, it comes out perfect. The cleanup couldn’t be easier. A little non-stick spray and it washes out easily.Reheat left overs is fantastic! The first thing I reheated was rotisserie chicken. It was like I had just bought the chicken crispy skin and the meat was still juicy.I highly recommend this air fryer to anyone who is looking for a smaller unit that doesn’t taken up a lot of real estate on your counter top.

… I finally have a magnificent air fryer. I work in fitness and am a 45+ male who cooks for himself. I’ve been told to “get an air fryer” at least a million times. I pretended I knew what it was and finally got my own last prime day. When I tell you how I’ve missed out on the last 15 years of life by being stubborn, I say it only urging you to grab one.I’m not a fancy guy. So the ability to fry 2 frozen chicken breasts at once in under 15 minutes is perfect. The buttons are clear and alarm comfortably toned. Cleaning on this item is so easy even a modernized cave man has no excuses. This is my favorite purchase of the past year Hands down

I never even review products, but I love this air fryer SO much that I couldn’t not leave one! When I purchased I was worried because some reviews were saying it smelled overwhelmingly bad when cooking. It has a mild plastic/new appliance smell, but in my personal experience it is not overwhelming at all! It preheats in roughly 1 minute. It is SO easy to clean, I leave the inside of the basket soaking in water and clean it the next day and it’s super easy to clean! The basket is easily removable. The settings are super easy and straight forward, and it’s really easy to change the time and temperature or even the cooking setting while your food is cooking. It has an alarm to remind you to turn your food. I’ve noticed this alarm does not always go off at exactly the halfway point, but it does go off. The alarm is also pretty loud so you don’t have to stand next to it to hear it and I really like that as well. The coating on my removable grate thing is peeling off a bit after several cookings, but that is not a huge deal for me because I don’t feel like it ends up on my food because it only peeled because my boyfriend scrubbed it too hard when washing. I’m sure if I contacted someone, I could get a new one. So far, in the last month that I’ve had this product, I’ve made chicken breasts, drumsticks, French fries, fried potatoes, and NY strip steaks, and they were ALL super tasty and moist to eat! I have the 4qt and I wish there was a larger basket option, but that is truly my only complaint! You have to buy this air fryer! 😍 I will never go back.

I have two other large Ninja foodi grills that will air fry but they are huge. This Instant Pot Vortex is perfect for smaller servings. It is basically a small convection oven, as all “air fryers” are. I’m not gonna bake a triple layer death by chocolate cake in this bad boy, but I have a countertop convection oven that will handle 13″ x 9″ pans all day long. The bin is larger than 7″ x 7″, but not much. It is perfect for one or two Sahlen’s hotdogs and quite quick. Small servings are quickly cooked and perfectly cooked. This may be the smartest purchase I have made this year. The Vortex is lightweight and has a very small footprint. Operation is quite simple and user friendly as one would expect with any Instant Pot product. This is the “toaster oven” upgrade from what I had in college.
